OUT OF CHARACTER: Permission to Play, Pretend & Be Ridiculous

October 7 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Step beyond your script

Surprise yourself for a while

Come back slightly changed

When was the last time you gave yourself permission to be someone a little different?

Most of us develop a familiar way of moving through the world. We know whether we’re the quiet one or the talkative one, the sensible one or the spontaneous one, the person who takes charge or the one who hangs back. Those familiar roles can be useful; but they don’t have to be the whole story.

For one evening, we’re stepping out of character.

Through a playful mix of individual, paired, and group experiences, we’ll experiment with spontaneity, imagination, self-expression, and the delicious freedom of not needing to get it right. You may find yourself doing something you never expected, laughing at something completely ridiculous, or connecting with someone who was a stranger an hour ago.

This isn’t about being good at improv, being quick-witted, or performing for an audience. It’s about taking small risks, trying something unfamiliar, and seeing what happens when we loosen our usual grip on who we’re supposed to be.

Guest facilitator Teresa Camilleri brings her love of improvisation, creative expression, community leadership, and public speaking to an evening designed for laughter, spontaneity, and connection.

Shy? Serious? Self-conscious? Perfect. Outgoing and ready to jump in? Also perfect.

Everyone is invited into the fun, but you decide how far outside your comfort zone you want to wander. You choose your own edge.

Come prepared to laugh, connect, get a little ridiculous, and perhaps find that being “out of character” suits you rather well.
