Resilience & Resistance: How Do We Find Our Way When Faced With Adversity?
630 to 9:30 PM
Every life brings moments when we encounter pressure, injustice, or circumstances beyond our control. How we respond can shape not only our own lives, but the lives of those around us.
Drawing on history, personal experience, and group discussion, long-time regular community member Hugh Doherty invites us to explore resilience and resistance; not as opposing forces, but as complementary human capacities that help us navigate life’s most challenging moments.
Together we’ll reflect on the choices people make under pressure, the influences that shape those choices, and why understanding another person’s circumstances is often more valuable than judging them. Through stories, conversation, and shared experience, we’ll consider what history can teach us about ourselves.
Whether your interest is history, psychology, social change, or simply understanding yourself and others more deeply, join us for an evening of thoughtful dialogue exploring one timeless question:
How would I respond when faced with adversity, and what choices might I make when life puts me to the test?
