Spanish Practice Through Song & Circle

February 26 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

A new monthly event!

Spanish speaking & singing practice

Sing. Speak. Stay in Spanish.

A monthly immersion circle for those with some existing Spanish who want to grow confidence through song, call-and-response, shared rhythm, and cultural exploration — without classroom pressure or performance.

This gathering is a Spanish-forward practice space designed for people who already have a basic conversational familiarity with Spanish and want to strengthen ease, pronunciation, comprehension, and confidence by using the language — not studying it.

The evening begins with a relaxed potluck dinner, followed by a guided group circle held primarily in Spanish. We sing Latin American medicine songs using Spotify or live accompaniment, practice pronunciation through call-and-response, and engage in simple speaking exercises that encourage participation without putting anyone on the spot.

Short instructional videos may be used to clarify common challenges such as ser / estaror desde / hace, always in service of staying in the language rather than slipping back into English. We may also watch brief Spanish-language videos focused on travel, culture, history, or food — offering inspiration as well as listening practice.

This is not a class, and it is not for absolute beginners.

It is a supportive practice container where mistakes are welcome, fluency grows through repetition, and confidence builds by resisting the easy fallback to English.

Native and fluent Spanish speakers are warmly welcomed — your presence helps hold the field and enriches the experience for everyone.
