Could You Be Our Next Conversation Leader?

Wonderful Wednesdays: A Modern Salon in South Etobicoke

Could the subject that fascinates you become an unforgettable evening of conversation?

Perhaps you’ve been exploring a subject, developing a practice, refining a skill, or following a question that simply won’t let you go.

In a world of endless scrolling and constant notifications, genuine face-to-face conversation has become surprisingly rare. If you’ve been looking for an engaged circle of curious people who enjoy exploring ideas together, Wonderful Wednesdays might be exactly what you’ve been looking for.

Wonderful Wednesdays draws inspiration from the Parisian salons: informal social gatherings where people came together to exchange ideas, examine assumptions, and enjoy meaningful dialogue.

I created Wonderful Wednesdays because I believe that when people feel safe enough to be genuinely curious with one another, something remarkable happens. We often leave feeling a little more connected: to ourselves, to each other, and to the community we’re creating together.

One of the qualities that makes Wonderful Wednesdays unique is the spirit of beginner’s mind. We don’t gather to decide who’s right. We gather to examine unfamiliar ideas with openness, discernment, humility, and respect. The best conversations begin with honest questions and generous listening.

The most memorable evenings aren’t measured by how much a facilitator knows, but by the quality of the conversation that unfolds. If your greatest satisfaction comes not simply from sharing what you know, but from creating the conditions for thoughtful questions, fresh perspectives, and genuine dialogue to emerge, you’ll probably feel right at home here.

You don’t need to be a professional speaker. Some of my favourite evenings have been led by people who became fascinated by a subject and wanted to explore it with others. You might be an author, artist, therapist, musician, researcher; or simply someone with an experience, skill, perspective, or passion worth sharing.

Some come to explore a book, workshop, creative project, or professional practice. Others simply enjoy exploring a subject with people who ask thoughtful questions. Both are equally welcome.

The evening begins with a 6:30 p.m. community potluck, giving everyone an opportunity to meet informally before we gather in a circle at 7:30 p.m. Following a brief opening question, the evening becomes yours to guide. You’ll have approximately 90 minutes to shape the experience in whatever way best suits your topic and your style; through presentation, discussion, demonstrations, music, experiential exercises, or any combination that feels right.

Wonderful Wednesdays is supported by voluntary donations, which help cover the costs of hosting the evening. At this time, we do not offer honoraria.

Instead, every guest facilitator receives a professionally designed webpage, together with promotion through my website, social media, and personal invitation list. Long after the chairs have been put away, your work remains available for others to discover. You’re also welcome to bring books, artwork, music, or other materials to share or offer for sale, although there’s absolutely no expectation to do so.

If you’re wondering whether your topic would be a good fit, let’s start a conversation.
